The Lifestyle Test presented at Green Tech Festival

At the Green Tech Festival in Berlin, Jussi Nevanlinna of Sitra presented the PSLifestyle project in a session titled “Lifestyle Test – Inspiring People towards Positive and Sustainable Lifestyles.”

Nevanlinna introduced the app that helps users understand the climate impact of their daily choices—and supports them in making tailored, sustainable changes. The app has already seen over 484,000 lifestyle tests taken and 48,000 personal action plans created across Europe.

He shared how 72% of emissions are linked to individual lifestyle decisions, and how the newly launched Lifestyle Data is helping uncover the real reasons people choose - or don’t choose - more sustainable habits. For example, when asked why they don’t repair clothes, users often cite lack of access to services or high costs - insights that can inform smarter, more inclusive climate action.

As the use of the Lifestyle Test continues to expand across Europe, its growing dataset offers an increasingly powerful lens into everyday barriers and motivations—shaping a more people-centred path toward sustainability.
