The Power of Portuguese Municipalities for the LifestyleTest, in Portugal

DECO is the Portuguese Consumers Association and the main reference in Portugal for consumer protection, being recognized and respected in the Portuguese society.

Its mission is to help citizens to be more informed, aware and empowered about their rights, working to ensure that we all have a more innovative and competitive economy and a fairer and more sustainable society. By this, projects and initiatives are usually well accepted by the citizens and stakeholders.

DECO is a multistakeholder organization, working with more than 80 municipalities, 170 regional and national media, 5000 schools, and several companies and other organizations. All these entities work closely with the association and have been crucial to disseminate the PSLifestyle Project.

To have a personalized report with the results of their custom URLs, municipalities are engaging their citizens to do the LifestyleTest and inviting DECO to participate in their events and local initiatives.

About 8200 tests carried out in Portugal, until early October, and 20% were achieved with the support of the municipalities, taking into account these campaigns.

There are already 7 municipalities using a custom URL for the LifestyleTest (Braga, Benavente, Lousã, Cascais, Paredes de Coura, Valongo and Azambuja) and a few more are preparing the launch of their campaigns.

These municipalities have an inspiring and important role for the project, sharing the tool and promoting sustainable lifestyles among their citizens. In result, they receive valuable information about their citizens' carbon footprint to understand the opportunities and barriers that they face. This information also helps them to communicate their interest about sustainability and about their citizens’ welfare.

By this way, it will be possible to implement the best policy measures in their cities and regions, to mitigate the climate change.

Join us on this sustainable journey and discover the positive impact of the LifestyleTest!
