PSLifestyle Engages Italian Stakeholders!

The PSLifestyle workshops are currently underway, engaging targeted groups of stakeholders across Italy. These sessions, held by the Italian partners of the project greenApes and Fondazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, aim to showcase the diverse applications of the Lifestyle Test and to gather valuable feedback that will not only enrich the final stages of the tool’s development but also pave the way for future applications. By directly involving stakeholders, PSLifestyle ensures that the Lifestyle Test remains a practical and adaptive tool for various sectors.

The first two workshops, focused on gathering input from the Civil Society and the Academia, took place last week in Rome. The initial workshop was held in person at the headquarters of the Fondazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, where key representatives from well-established environmental associations, such as WWF Italy and Legambiente, shared their perspectives and suggestions. This direct engagement allowed PSLifestyle to tap into the experience of prominent players in environmental advocacy, gathering essential insights to fine-tune the tool to align with their needs. The second workshop, tailored for the Academia, was held online to maximize participation. This format enabled professors, researchers, and other academic representatives to easily join the session, providing critical perspectives on the tool's potential in research and educational contexts.

The third workshop was held in Parma at the prestigious CA Village, focusing on the business sector. Organized in collaboration with KilometroverdeParma, the event brought together active participants from private-sector organizations of all sizes, from micro to medium-large companies. The Lifestyle Test was primarily seen as a tool for raising awareness around sustainable lifestyles and as a valuable addition to corporate efforts in the sustainable transition journey.

Discussions at the workshops have delved into several central questions: How can the Lifestyle Test be enhanced to achieve the widest possible adoption across sectors? What sustainability data would be most beneficial for each stakeholder group, and what are the primary barriers in applying the test results? Additionally, which potential applications of the tool have yet to be fully explored? Approximately thirty stakeholders have contributed to addressing these questions, offering valuable feedback and innovative ideas.

Looking ahead, the next and final workshop, scheduled for November 14th, will focus on engaging city representatives in an online format. Large floor will be given to the Florence case, as the first city throughtout Europe which adoped the test in their citizen engagement campaign Firenze per il clima (Florence for the climate). This session is expected to build on the insights gathered thus far, providing further feedback to make the tool’s data even more effective in guiding policies and campaigns aimed at reducing environmental impact. Significant attention will be given to the case of Florence, the first city in Europe to adopt the Lifestyle Test as part of its citizen engagement campaign Firenze per il Clima (Florence for the Climate). The collective input gained through these workshops will empower PSLifestyle to deliver a versatile, impactful tool that meets the needs of diverse sectors, fostering a more sustainable future.
